Ascend Web Studio didn't start as a web design company.

"I figured if I got rid of the upfront cost and made businesses pay a small monthly fee, they would never have to worry about their website becoming outdated again."

It started with a university student, a dorm room, and a stubborn belief that there had to be a smarter way to help local businesses show up online.

Then came a phone call that changed everything. A business owner mentioned he was paying someone to rebuild his outdated website — and only because a government grant made it possible. Without it, the cost would have stopped him entirely.

That conversation made something obvious. Outdated websites weren't a niche problem. They were everywhere. The barrier wasn't a lack of interest — it was the cost of doing something about it.

Remove the large upfront cost. Replace it with a manageable monthly subscription. Businesses would never have to worry about their digital presence becoming outdated again.

A few clients became several. Several became a track record. Ascend Web Studio was born.
